Beach Volleyball Has Three Athletes Claim WCC All-Academic Awards

SAN BRUNO, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's beach volleyball team had three players selected to the 2025 West Coast Conference All-Academic Honors, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. Sophomore Noelle Niederman was the lone Bronco selected to the 10 person All-Academic Team, while sophomores Alexandra Urbina and Sveva Munneke were named Honorable Mention.
 
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative Grade Point Average, while also being a significant contributor to their team and in at least their second year at their school.
 
NOELLE NIEDERMAN
After being selected to the WCC All-Freshman team last season, Noelle has had another career year with the Broncos this season. She has put together a 12-16 record playing at the No.1, 2, and 3 spots in the lineup. The highlight of her season was a come from behind three set victory against #17 Washington with her partner Holland Jackson. She put together a 3.912 GPA in the fall quarter, improving her overall GPA to 3.638 in her Mechanical Engineering major.
 
ALEXANDRA URBINA
After being selected to the WCC All-Freshman team last season, Urbina has been a huge part of the Broncos lineup this season playing at the No. 1, 2, and 3 spots earning a 16-14 record in duals, including a 4-1 record in conference this season. She was instrumental in the Broncos first win over a ranked opponent in program history defeating #17 Washington in straight sets with her partner Ciara Cantlen. Urbina put together a 3.675 GPA this fall quarter, improving her cumulative GPA to 3.662 in her finance major.
 
SVEVA MUNNEKE
Sveva has been an integral part of the Broncos this season. After being selected to the All-WCC freshman team last season, she has put together a 7-11 record this season at the No.4 and No. 5 spots in the Broncos lineup. She put together a 3.271 GPA this quarter, improving her cumulative GPA to 2.829 overall.
