SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's golf has one more tournament before beginning postseason play.
The Broncos head to Provo, Utah, to compete in the PING Cougar Classic on Friday and Saturday, their final tuneup before next week's West Coast Conference Championship.
The lineup for the sixth regular-season tournament, which will take place at Riverside Country Club, features Matt McCarty, Berk Harvey, Jack Avrit, Oscar Zimmerman and Nolan Forsman.
McCarty, Harvey and Avrit were apart of the team lineup in all five previous events. McCarty leads the team with a 71.13 stroke average and is ranked No. 74 nationally by Golfstat.com.
Forsman has appeared in two events as an individual and shined in his last outing, coming in first at the Wildhorse Classic. He carded an 8-under total at the event that included individuals from teams participating in the El Macero Classic where McCarty finished second. Zimmerman has been in the lineup for the last two events.
BYU will serve as the host for the 19-team field that includes WCC members Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, San Diego, San Francisco and Saint Mary's.
USF (28) and New Mexico (29) enter as the highest ranked teams by Golfstat.com. The Broncos have been trending up and now sit at No. 87.
Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Mountain with the Broncos starting at 9 a.m. off the first tee on the par-72, 7,142-yard course. Follow scoring at Golfstat.com.
