LAKEWOOD, WASH. - The Santa Clara women's golf team performed exceptionally well in the first two rounds of the Pat Lesser Harbottle SeattleU Invitational. They secured a strong second-place finish in the first round with a score of 4-over 292 and maintained their position in the second round with a score of 2-over 290. Audrey Brust, who has been having an impressive season, continued her strong performance by finishing the day in third place. Brust completed the two rounds with a score of 2-under 142, just one stroke behind the leader. Another teammate, Lauren Shew, finished the day with a score of 1-under 143, just one stroke behind Brust.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:

In the first round of the tournament, Brust had an impressive finish for the Broncos, scoring 2-under 70. She then went on to score an even par second round.

Shew, who made her 2023 season debut, performed exceptionally well in both rounds today. She ended the day tied for fourth place

In the first round, Shew carded a 1-under 71 giving her the advantage.

Meva Schmit showcased her skills in the second round, shooting a solid 2-under 70. Schmit displayed consistency and secured a tied seventh position for the day, with three birdies to her credit.

Patricia Garre Munoz also had a notable performance, shooting four birdies and achieving a tied 62th place finish on the day.

Freshman Kelsey Kim contributed two holes under par, further assisting to Santa Clara's overall performance in the first day of the tournament.

Three Broncos finished in the top 10 after the first day in the Pacific Northwest. Brust at third, Shew tied at fourth and Schmit tied at seventh.
