Broncos Tied For Fourth After 18 Holes In The Bahamas

PARADISE ISLAND - Santa Clara women's golf turned in a 20-over 308 in the opening round of the White Sands Bahamas Invite and are tied with Tulane for fourth ahead of Saturday's second round. Individually, the duo of Patricia Garre Munoz and Kelsey Kim shot a 3-over 75 and find themselves tied for 11th. 

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Low scores were tough to come by on Friday with only four players among the field of 64 finishing at even par or under. Kansas State's Haley Vargas and Christina Carroll of Delaware were the lone players to shoot under and share the individual lead at 2-under 70.
  • Garre Munoz tallied three birdies in her round while Kim had a pair of birdie putts. 
  • Meva Schmit, Audrey Brust and Inara also find themselves in a tie for 28th after posting a 7-over 79 for the day.
  • Brianna Park, playing as an individual, is currently tied for 42nd at 9-over 81. 
  • Kansas State leads the field of 11 with a 5-under 293. North Florida is seven strokes behind with Grand Canyon (302) nipping at their heels. The Broncos and Green Wave round out the top five.
