Women's Golf Opens Season With Strong Opening Round In Utah

PROVO, Utah - Santa Clara women's golf opened their 2023-24 campaign by turning in a solid opening round on day one of the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational, carding an even par 288 to finish the day in seventh among the 19-team field. 

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Sophomore Audrey Brust had the top individual day for the Broncos with a 2-under 70. She's tied for 11th and just two strokes behind the crowded top five. 
  • Patricia Garre Munoz, Meva Schmit and Kelsey Kim made their Bronco debuts on Sunday. Garre Munoz, a transfer from Campbell University, is tied for 26th at even par while Schmit and Kim are a stroke behind and tied for 36th at 1-over 73. 
  • Inara Sharma is just a stroke behind her teammates at 2-over 72 and tied for 50th out of the 104 player field. 
  • Fresno State leads the field at 9-under while CSUN's Nicole Tanoue and UT Arlington's Kamri Gabel are tied for the individual lead at 7-under 65.

  • The second round of the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational will be played on Monday.
