SPOKANE, Wash. - It was a career night for the Broncos as four players recorded double-doubles en route to a 3-2 victory over Gonzaga. The Broncos fought back after falling down 2-1, to take the match away from the Bulldogs. Three Broncos tallied double figures in kills:
Oren Abutbul (20),
Alayna Crabtree (19), and
Lauren Grover (16), and
Macy Hinshaw added a career high in assists (36) and digs (20), to cement the Broncos victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Broncos (6-10, 2-5) jumped out to a 4-1 lead to open the first set after back-to-back kills from Oren Abutbul. However, Gonzaga fought back, tying up the contest at 7. Both teams went back-and-forth until a Lauren Grover kill capped off four straight points for the Broncos to take a 23-19 lead, forcing a Gonzaga timeout. A kill by Oren Abutbul capped off the first set, a 25-20 victory for the Broncos.
- Gonzaga (1-16, 0-7) took a 5-2 lead to open set two, but the Broncos battled back, scoring three points in a row to take a 10-9 lead. Gonzaga regained the lead, going up 17-14 after a service ace, and later 21-17, leading to a Santa Clara timeout. The Broncos scored three in a row to tie the match at 23, capped off by a kill from Grace Flanagan. However, Gonzaga scored the final two points of the set to take the second set 25-23.
- Gonzaga scored six in a row to jump out to a 10-4 lead to open the third set, and later 15-6. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 20-7 before a kill from Layla Truitt capped off five straight points for the Broncos to cut the lead to 20-12, forcing a Gonzaga timeout. The Broncos scored four straight points to cut the lead to 21-15, before Gonzaga finished off the set 25-16 to take a 2-1 match lead.
- A kill by Alayna Crabtree gave the Broncos a 9-6 lead to open the fourth set. The Broncos then racked up four straight points ballooning the lead to 13-7. A service ace from Lauren Grover put the Broncos up 19-11, leading to a Gonzaga timeout. The Broncos scored the final four points of the set, capped off by a kill from Alayna Crabtree, taking the fourth set 25-13.
- The fifth set was neck-and-neck until back-to-back kills from Alayna Crabtree gave the Broncos a 10-8 lead. Three straight points for the Broncos gave the Broncos a 13-9 lead, forcing another Gonzaga timeout. A kill by Lauren Grover sealed the Broncos victory 15-11.
NOTABLE NUMBERS:
- The Broncos were led by Oren Abutbul who matched a career high with 20 kills.
- Alayna Crabtree had her sixth double-double of the season with 19 kills and 12 digs.
- Lauren Grover matched her career high, tallying 16 kills, adding 13 digs for her third double-double of the season.
- Macy Hinshaw had a career high in assists (36) and digs (20), her fourth career double-double.
- Lexi Trapani had her first career double-double with 16 digs and 10 assists.
