TULSA, Okla. - Santa Clara men's golf rounded out the fall with a tie for fifth at the Clerico, hosted by Oral Roberts University on the par-70 Oaks Country Club. The Broncos shot a a 13-over 293 in Tuesday's final round to finish the event 35-over 287-295-293--875.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- All 13 teams in the field struggled throughout the two-day tournament with just one team carding a sub-par round as a unit (Northwestern shot a 1-under in the final round).
- Alvaro Muller turned in the top finish of his young Bronco career with a 13-place finish at 6-over 70-75-71--216. It his his second-20 finish of the fall.
- Calder Overfelt also finished inside the top-20 with a tie for 17th at 9-over 70-73-76--219. The junior finished the fall with four top-20 finishes to lead the team.
- Matthew Robles (221), Emil Nielsen (223) and J.P. Odland (227) tied for 27th, 36th and 56th, respectively.
- Northwestern took home the team title at 12-over 852, besting Oral Roberts (860) and Duke (865). The Wildcats' Cameron Adam won medalist honors as the lone player in the field of 72 to finish under par at 3-under 67-70-70--207.
