TUCSON, Ariz. - Beach volleyball came up short on the second day of the Arizona Invitational. The Broncos faced Utah and UTEP which featured a 2-3 duel score in both. Elena Radeff and Katie Kishton were the sole pair to finish 2-0 on the day.
vs. Utah (12-8)
The Broncos started off the day taking on Utah. While the match was back-and-forth, the only pairs that secured a win were the ones and fives. Santa Clara started out in a 3-0 deficit in the duel as Utah secured the match.
vs. UTEP (8-7)
Santa Clara came out strong as Jordan Bennett and Sveva Munneke secured the first win 21-13, 21-9 at the five slot. UTEP came back and changed the duel score to 1-2 in their favor taking wins at the twos and threes. Radeff and Kishton took their game to three sets, putting the match even at 2-2. It all came down to the four slot which went to extra sets. The Broncos took the second set 22-20, but just fell short 15-12 in the third set.
