SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball had three played honored on the All-WCC teams, led by a pair of First Team selections for the first time since 2016. Tess Heal and Olivia Pollerd were the two on the First Team with Maddie Naro taking home All-Freshman honors.
 
Heal has improved after a historically great freshman campaign. She leads the team with 19.6 ppg on 48.3-percent shooting from the floor and also leads thew ay with 4.8 apg. Heal is second in the country with 175 free throws made, fifth with 200 attempted and 22nd at 87.5-percent from the charity stripe. She is one of 24 players with a triple-double this year and one of 15 to score 40 or more points in a game. On February 8, Heal became the fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 points in just her 57th game. Her play has had her named the WCC Player of the Week a conference-high-tying six times.
 
The 6-3 Pollerd is second on the team in scoring with 15.2 ppg and is adding 4.6 rpg. She has been lights out from beyond the arc and ranks sixth nationally with 88 3-pointers made and 11th at 44.4-percent form beyond the arc. Pollerd has nine games of 20 or more points and has knocked down at least one 3-pointers in 29 of 31 games with 13 games featuring four or more.
 
Naro has been a crucial player coming off the bench in all 31 games. The backup point guard has a 47-25 assist to turnover ratio which would be fourth in the WCC if she qualified for the leaderboards. She has also chipped in points 13 times, including a career-high eight against Pepperdine on January 18.
 
The Broncos finished the regular season on a roll with nine-straight wins and in second in the WCC, their best finish since 2008. They get a bye to the semifinals of the WCC Tournament and will Player Monday at 2:30 p.m.
