BREMERTON, Wash. - Santa Clara women's golf shot a collective 18-over 306 in the opening round of the 2024 WCC Women's Golf Championship at the par 72, 6,112-yard Gold Mountain Golf Course to finish the day in third and just two shots out of second place. Four of the five Broncos playing the field finished the day inside the top 10 with
Meva Schmit and
Audrey Brust tying for seventh.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Schmit and Brust both turned in a 4-over 76. Schmit tallied three birdies while Brust carded four.
- Inara Sharma and Kelsey Kim also tied each other for 10th place at 5-over 77.
- Patricia Garre Munoz finished a shot behind her teammates for sole possession of 14th place at 6-over 78.
- Pepperdine holds the team lead at 2-over 290. San Francisco is in the second at 16-over 304, just two shots ahead of the Broncos.
- Pepperdine's Lauren Gomez holds the individual lead at 2-under 70.
