SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara volleyball added a big boost to their roster this offseason with the addition of six newcomers as part of their 2024 signing class. The class features a wealth of all-state and all-conference players from around the nation that are set to bring their tremendous talents to the Broncos roster in 2024.
"This is one of the largest and most balanced classes we have welcomed to Broncos volleyball in many years," said Santa Clara University volleyball head coach
Erin Lindsey. We are even more excited that they will be able to join us for the program's first ever foreign trip in June to kick off their onboarding and bonding with the team."
Danielle Brown | Middle Blocker | Puyallup, Wash. | Puyallup High School
Brown was a four-time South Puget Sound League (SPSL) First Team selection at Puyallup High where she set the school record for career blocks. Serving as the team captain and MVP, the 6-foot-3

middle blocker was voted to the Washington Volleyball Coaches All-State Team three times, was named the 2021 SPSL North Co-MVP and repeated as MVP in 2023. Brown, who ranks as No. 1 highest percentage player in state history, was tabbed as a Max-Preps Underclassman All-America selection, earned Prep-dig All-State honors, was a three-time TNT All-Area First Team pick and was voted as the best high school player in the state by Stadium Talk in 2023.
Brown also served as a four-year team captain for the Dakine Volleyball Club. She helped the club to a third-place finish at the 2021 U16 Nationals and earned a spot on the Girls Junior National Championship (GNJC) All-Tournament Team. In 2022, she helped guide the club to the St. Louis President's Day Tournament U17 Open Championship title and once again earned all-tournament honors.

"Dani will join our already talented group of middle blockers. She brings a strong arm to provide an offensive weapon from the middle of the court. Dani is a great teammate who brings a hard-working and can-do attitude."
Kaia Grieve | Outside Hitter | La Jolla, Calif. | The Bishop's School

Grieve was a four-year varsity player and helped lead Bishop's to three-consecutive Coastal League Championship titles (2021-23). A native of La Jolla, Calif., she earned All-Coastal League First Team honors as a senior in 2023 after earning a second team nod in 2022. During her high school career, she also earned Athlete of the Week honors by the San Diego Union Tribune and was the San Diego Sports Association Star of the Month in October.
Grieve comes from a strong family line of athletes. Both her father (Ben) and grandfather (Tom) played Major League Baseball for a combined 17 seasons, and her brother, Bode, currently plays baseball at New Mexico State. Her aunt, Katie George, played volleyball at Auburn University from 1996-97.

"Kaia comes to the Broncos volleyball family from a storied high school program and an elite athletic legacy. She will provide us depth in our passing and defense competing as an outside hitter and defensive specialist."
Morgan Hayes | Opposite Hitter | Honolulu | Highlands High School
Hayes, originally from Honolulu, was a two-time varsity team captain at Highlands High School. In 2023, she was honored at the MVP of the Sierra Delta League, and earned Academic All-League honors three-straight seasons from 2022-24. Emerging into the starting lineup as a sophomore, she switched positions to middle blocker for both her junior and senior campaigns. She also played club ball for Omni Volleyball Club.

"Morgan will bring Broncos volleyball even more physicality at our opposite position. She puts up a huge block and has great lefty attacking range. Morgan is relatively raw in the game and has a huge ceiling."
Macy Hinshaw | Setter | Fishers, Ind. | Hamilton Southeastern High School
Hinshaw joins the Broncos all the way from Fishers, Ind., where she was a two-time 4A state champion at Hamilton Southeastern High in 2022 and 2023. In 2023, the team was ranked as the No. 1 high school volleyball team in the nation. A three-year varsity starter, Hinshaw had tremendous success as both a junior and senior, earning First Team All-State, All-District, All-Conference and All-Indiana Super Team honors. She was a First Team Preseason All-America pick and a nominee for the Indiana Player of the Year in 2023.
Hinshaw also had tremendous success at the club level. She was First Team All-America Setter in 2023, and was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the 17 Open USA Volleyball Nationals in 2022. She was a member of the Indiana Preseason Super Team in 2022, a member of the AVCA Phenom Watch List, an Under Armour All-America Invitee and a four-time invitee to the USA National Team Development Program.

"Macy is one of the best setters in the 2024 class and a proven winner. She will bring not only great skill and talent to our roster but the competitive leadership you look for in the setting position."
Tia Kapihe | Outside Hitter | Kane'ohe, Hawai'I | Kapalama High School
Kapihe (pronounced kah-pea-hay) also brings a couple of state championship titles with her from Hawai'I to the Mission Campus. The outside hitter was a two-time Hawai'I state champion and helped lead Kapalama to two league championship titles. She was named to the GJNC 17 and Under National Tournament All-Tournament Team and was part of a fifth-place finish at the GJNC National Division Tournament.
Kapihe also comes from a family rich with athletic talent. Both of her parents were collegiate athletes with her mother, Rebecca, playing four years of volleyball at the University of the Pacific from 1992-96, and her father, Ellie, playing football at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa from 1993-97. Her siblings, Teila and EJ, both play collegiately as well in volleyball and basketball, respectively.

Halle Reiter | Libero/Defensive Specialist | Camas, Wash. | Camas High School
Reiter joins the Broncos after a decorated high school career as a four-year player at Camas High in Camas, Wash. The libero was a two-time 4A Great St. Helens League Co-Player of the Year as both a junior and senior while serving as the team's captain and defensive MVP. In 2023, she picked up First Team All-Region and Second Team All-State honors after earning Second Team All-Region honors as a junior.
Reiter trained at the Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy from 2020-21 through 2023-24. In 2022, she helped her team to the CEVA Regional Championship title, placed 29
th at the GJNC 16 Open and earned a spot on the Far Western National Qualifier 16 Open All-Tournament Team. That year, she also was named to the Volleyball Magazine National Dream Team of the Week.
