SAN BRUNO, Calif- Santa Clara women's volleyball had six players recognized Monday with the 2025 All-West Coast Conference awards, their most since having a program record seven honorees in 2014.
Macy Hinshaw and
Cate Shanahan took home first team honors, while
Lexi Trapani was selected to the All-WCC Second Team, and
Morgan Hayes,
Grace Flanagan, and
Layla Truitt took home Honorable Mention recognition.
Hinshaw led the WCC in assists per set (10.03) and total assists (1,154) this season, while starting in all 29 matches for the Broncos. She had 12 double doubles this season, while posting double figures in assists in all 29 games. She was named WCC Setter of the Week a program record five times, and posted a career high 54 assists vs. Portland on Nov. 1, and 23 digs at LMU on Nov. 13.
Shanahan led the team and finished sixth in the WCC with 372 kills this season, while starting in all 29 games for the Broncos this season. She finished eighth in the conference with 3.23 kills per set, and was also third on the team with 202 digs. She had 18 games in double figures for kills and five double doubles. Shanahan had a career high 26 kills against Pepperdine on Oct. 4, and 17 digs vs. Washington State on Sept. 27. She was named WCC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 6, and was named to the Catholic Challenge All-Tournament Team.
Trapani led the WCC in total digs (450) and digs per set (3.91) this season, while starting in all 29 games for the Broncos. She also finished second on the team with 124 assists, and was named WCC Defensive Player of the Week earlier this week for the first time in her career. She had 24 games this season in double figures for digs and 10 games with 20 or more. Lexi led the team with 36 service aces, and had a career high five aces at LMU on Nov. 13, and a career best 24 digs at Saint Mary's on Oct. 11.
Flanagan started in 27-of-29 matches this season for the Broncos, leading the team with 94 total blocks, averaging 0.82 blocks per set, and finished fourth on the team with 218 kills. She finished with eight games this year in double figures for kills, and had a career best 15 kills at LMU on Nov. 13. Flanagan is one of two repeats in the WCC awards for the Broncos, after earning All-WCC Honorable Mention recognition last season as well.
Truitt also repeats for the Broncos in All-WCC awards after earning Honorable Mention last season as well. Truitt started all 29 matches for the Broncos this season, finishing second on the team in kills (287), kills per set (2.50), blocks (83), and blocks per set (0.72). Truitt had a team leading 20 games with double figures in kills, while knocking down a career best eight blocks at Seattle U on Oct. 25. She also led the team, hitting .323, good for seventh best in the WCC, and hit a career best .706 with 12 kills on Sept. 12 against Fresno State, the first Bronco to hit over .700 since Jensen Cunningham hit .706 vs. Stony Brook on Sept. 3, 2016. Truitt was named to the Santa Clara Mission Classic All-Tournament Team, and had a season high 17 kills against Portland on Nov. 1.
Hayes played in 28-of-29 matches for the Broncos this season, starting in 20 of those, respectively. She was third on the team with 259 kills, averaging 2.42 kills per set. Hayes finished with 13 games in double figure kills, including a career high 17 on Nov. 16 at SJSU. She also finished with 61 digs, and was third on the team with 65 blocks, averaging 0.61 blocks per set in her second season with the team.
