SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis ticked up one spot to No. 53 in the latest ITA rankings released on Tuesday, reaching their highest ranking all season and the highest since the 2014-15 campaign when they were ranked No. 52. The previous high this spring was a No. 54 ranking in three separate weeks (Feb. 27, March 5 and March 26).
SCU is coming off a tough 4-3 loss to LMU on Monday that snapped a nine-match win streak and have an overall record of 14-3 including 1-1 in West Coast Conference play. During the win streak, Santa Clara defeated a pair of nationally ranked teams in No. 53 South Florida on the road and against No. 69 New Mexico at home.
The Broncos will face two more nationally ranked teams this week, hosting No. 13 San Diego on Thursday and traveling to take on No. 43 Pepperdine on Sunday in key WCC matchups.
