SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's golf made a huge addition to their 2024-25 roster on Tuesday with the official announcement that UCLA grad transfer Alvaro Muller has signed with the Broncos. Head Coach
Andrew Larkin made the announcement.
"We are very excited to have Alvaro join the Bronco Family next fall," Larkin said. "He brings a wealth of experience both competing and winning at the highest levels. We are excited for the addition that Alvaro will bring to our culture on and off the course next year."
Muller joins Larkin's squad after playing the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons at UCLA. He made 15 total appearances and averaged 74.8 strokes per round for the Bruins. His best finish was a tie for 23rd at the 2022 Amer Ari Invitational (7-under 209).
A native of San Pedro de Alcantara, Spain, Muller won multiple championships in his home country. He captured 2019 Spanish National Championship title and was also the U18 Spanish International Champion. Played for the Spanish National Team and also had a stint with Team Europe at the Jacques Leglise Trophy event. He won a total of eight amateur events from 2018-2020 prior to joining the Bruins, and also was a participant att both the 2019 and 2021 US Amateur. Muller ranked as high as eighth in the world in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Muller joins Santa Clara as a graduate transfer, and will have one season of eligibility remaining. He is one of five new faces that make up the Broncos' signing class, joining previously announced Kasper Verwers, Emil Nielsen, Matthew Robles and Jack Hayden.
