Men's Tennis Hires Former ATP Tour Professional Assistant Coach

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara head men's tennis coach Niall Angus announced on Wednesday the hiring of Josh Page, who coached an ATP Tour pro as well as at the collegiate level, as an assistant coach.

Page joins the Broncos from Gooding Todero Academy in Orlando, Florida where he was the Head of the Full-time program the last three years after serving as a graduate assistant for the University of Toledo men's tennis program in 2018-19 and 2019-20.

"I am really excited to be getting back into college coaching.  I have missed the day to day developmental work with the players as well as competing and getting to have an impact on match day," said Page.  "I look forward to installing a hardworking, enthusiastic energy to practice each day."

Prior to his stint at Toledo, Page served as an ATP Tour assistant coach for Croatian player Borna Coric who reached a world ranking of No. 51 under his coaching in 2017 before reaching a career-high ranking of No. 12 a year later.

Page embarked on a coaching career after captaining the University of San Diego men's tennis squad his senior year in 2016-17.  He was part of back-to-back West Coast Conference Championship squads including overlapping one season with Angus' younger brother Jordan.

"Josh brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the program and I am delighted that he will be joining the coaching staff this fall," said Broncos head coach Niall Angus.  "His understanding of the conference, winning the WCC on two separate occasions with USD as a player, as well as a high tennis IQ along with his ability to develop players shown throughout his time at the University of Toledo and recent role in coaching top junior talent in Florida, makes him a fantastic fit for what we are building here at Santa Clara.  In addition, Josh's added experience of coaching on the ATP professional tour with Borna Coric offers an invaluable perspective to our student-athletes.  Josh will be fundamental to the future success of Santa Clara men's tennis and I am excited to start working alongside him."

The Ruislip, England native earned his bachelor of art degree in communications from USD in 2017 and an MBA from Toledo in 2020.
