TACOMA, Wash. - Santa Clara women's golf fired an 8-under 280 in the second round of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Monday evening to counter an opening round 298 and finish the day in fifth place at 2-over 578. The second round total tied for the best of the day as all five Broncos finished at par or better with
Audrey Brust tallying the lowest individual round of the young season with a 4-under 68.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Brust's 68 is not only the lowest score of any Bronco this season but is also tied for the lowest round of the junior's career.
- Freshman Amy Im continues to impress in just her third event as a collegiate golfer. She finished the day 1-under 72-71--143 and is tied for 10th ahead of Tuesday's final round.
- Fellow freshman Chloe Lam, making her collegiate debut, bounced back from an opening round 74 with a 1-under 71 in the second round to tie for 21st at 1-over 145.
- Brust is tied for 27th with teammate Kelsey Kim, who tallied the second-lowest day for the Broncos with a 2-under 70 in round No. 2. The duo is currently 2-over 146.
- Freshman Alexa Pineda rounds out the Bronco lineup with a tie for 39th at 4-over 76-72--148.
- Cal State Fullerton (568) holds a one-stroke lead over Seattle (569) for the lead in the team standings. Both teams shot an 8-under 280 in the second round to tie SCU for the lowest round of the day.
- Seattle's Rivekka Jumagulova holds a firm hold of the individual lead after turning in a 9-under 67-68--135.
