SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah - Santa Clara women's golf turned in an impressive 1-over 289 to open the 2024 fall season with a bang in the opening round of the Wolverine Invitational. The Broncos are in third following the first 18 holes of play and just six strokes behind co-leaders UC Irvine and UC RIverside. Freshman
Sonia Hao, making her collegiate debut, had SCU's top round of the day with a 2-under 70 and is currently tied for fifth.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Hao was one of three Broncos to make her collegiate debut in Sunday's round. Fellow freshmen Amy Im and Alexa Pineda also teed off their collegiate careers.
- Hao tallied four birdies for the day and is just one stroke back from the four-way tie for first.
- Pineda rolled in three birdies as part of a even-par 72 and is currently tied for ninth.
- Sophomore Kelsey Kim also tallied four birdies and is tied for 14th at 1-over 73. Audrey Brust and Im each shot 2-over 74 and are tied for 21st.
