SAN DIEGO – Valentin Faure advanced to the singles semifinals at the Intercollegiate Championships winning his fourth straight match on Saturday.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Faure defeated Grand Canyon's Andreas Loizas in three sets 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-2 and will next play USC's Niels Hoffman in the semis.

DAVIS, Calif. – At the UC Davis Aggies Invitational, Luca Lemaitre won a pair of matches to advance to the flight A finals while Tiago Boschmans and Mahir Khurana made it to the semifinals of their respective B and C flights before falling.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Lemaitre beat UC Davis player Ivan Savkin 6-4, 6-4 in the flight A quarterfinals before taking care of Kaveh Taheri also from UC Davis, 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals to set up Sunday's finals match against another Aggie Lucas Bollinger. 
• In flight B, Boschmans downed Rithvik Katpelly of UC Davis 6-7 (5-7), 6-0, 7-5 in the quarterfinals but fell in the semis to Gonzaga's Oscar Rashed in three sets. 
• Khurana won his C flight quarterfinal match against David E Navarro of Menlo College 6-4, 6-2.  In the semifinals, he lost to Gonzaga's Diego Herrera  6-1, 6-4.
• Khurana also played in the semis of the B flight doubles while paired with Cal Poly's Derek Hafiz but lost 8-7 (7-1) to the duo from Nevada, Masato Kato and Sebastiano Cressi.
