Men's Tennis Run at ITA Regionals Ends in the Quarterfinals

STOCKTON, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis run at the ITA Regional Championships came to an end in Sunday's quarterfinal rounds at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. Luca Bluett won his singles round of 16 match early in the day to place two Broncos in the quarterfinals of the singles draw along with a pair of doubles teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Bluett defeated Stanford's Alexander Razeghi in three sets 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 to join Alexander Watanabe Eriksson in the singles quarterfinals. However, in that round, Bluett fell to Oregon's Vlad Breazu 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-4 while Watanabe Eriksson lost to Cal's Fryderyk Wasiutynski 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).
In doubles, Bluett paired with John Kim and came up short against Brett Pearson and Soham Purohit of Washington 8-2.
Watanabe Eriksson teamed up with Tiago Boschmans and lost 8-4 to Razeghi and Alex Chang.
Mahir Khurana and Lukas Maskow each won an extra singles match.
During the four days of the tournament, SCU won a total of 20 matches - six doubles and 14 singles.
