SAN DIEGO - Three Santa Clara men's tennis players– Valentin Faure, Lukas Maskow, and Luca Bluett– appeared in the 68th Annual Men's Intercollegiate Championship, the tournament's opening day on Thursday brought two singles victories and one doubles and singles defeat each.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Faure defeated San Diego State's Denis Maijorov 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Maskow took his win in two sets against his opponent, TJ Wells, from BYU 6-1, 6-4.

Both winners, Maskow and Faure, partnered for the doubles match ultimately falling to the BYU duo, TJ Wells and Hardy Owen 6-2.

Despite a strong start to the match winning the first set, Luca Bluett fell short to Cal Poly's John Cross, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
