Bronco Volleyball Pair Earns WCC POTW Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif.- Santa Clara women's volleyball saw two star athletes named West Coast Conference (WCC) Players of the Week Monday, as announced by the conference. Sophomore setter Macy Hinshaw earned her program record fifth WCC Setter of the Week award of the season, while junior libero Lexi Trapani earned the first WCC Defensive Player of the Week honor of her career.
 
Hinshaw totaled 35 assists in each match this week against Washington State and Seattle, averaging 11.67 assists per set. She also added 11 digs against Washington State for her 12th double double of the season. Hinshaw finished the season as the conference leader in assists per set (10.03) and total assists (1,154). This is the fifth time this season Hinshaw has won WCC Player of the Week honors, surpassing Becky Potter for the most in a single season in program history.
 
Trapani, meanwhile, totaled 18 digs against Washington State and 14 digs against Seattle for her 24th and 25th games of the season in double figures. She totaled 32 digs this weekend, averaging 5.33 digs per set and finished the season as the WCC leader in total digs (450) and digs per set (3.91). This is the first WCC Player of the Week award for Trapani.
 
The Broncos wrapped up their 2025 campaign Saturday with a sweep over Seattle, earning their 12th conference victory of this season, their most since winning 13 in 2015.
