SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara men's tennis team made their first appearance in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings this spring, coming in at No. 60 nationally.
They are among five West Coast Conference schools ranked, behind No. 7 San Diego and No. 21 Pepperdine. Portland sits at No. 72 and LMU at No. 74, respectively.
The Broncos are currently riding a five match win streak and has a 6-3 record for the dual season. The ranking is especially impressive considering the team graduated their top three players from last season when the team was ranked nationally for 12 straight weeks reaching a high of No. 53.
During the five match win streak, Santa Clara has taken the doubles point in four of them and have been dominant on singles courts three through six, winning all 20 matches.
In their last outing,
Valentin Faure came through and delivered a 3-all clincher against UNLV on the road to complete a comeback victory after trailing 3-1.
The national rankings include the Men's and Women's Top 75 Team Rankings, Top 125 Singles Rankings, and Top 90 Doubles Rankings.
The Broncos next play on Friday hosting UC Davis at noon inside the Degheri Tennis Center.
