Amy Im held on to her position inside the top-10 in the final round of the Silicon Valley Showcase, shooting a 3-over 74 to conclude the event 1-over 69-71-74--214 to finish in tie for seventh. It is the first top-10 finish of the freshman's career. The Broncos tied for fourth with Long Beach State as a team, finishing their time at the par 71, 6,084-yard Green Hills Country Club 33-over 885.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- This is the third time that Im has finished just one over the minimum this season (Wolverine Invitational and Rainbow Wahine Invitational).
- Rachael Wang, playing as an individual, had an outstanding final round of 3-under 68 - tied for the best round of anyone in the field of 50 players. She carded four birdies on the front nine and added one more on the back to climb 13 spots into a tie for 16th at 5-over 218.
- Audrey Brust also finished 5-over 218 to tie Wang for 16th after closing out the tournament with a 3-over 74 in the final round.
- Chloe Lam (224), Proud Sriwongngam (229), Kelsey Kim (231) and Alexa Pineda (237) tied for 24th, 36th, 41st and 46th, respectively.
- Pepperdine won the team title for the third consecutive season, finishing just one stroke better than Kansas State at 2-over 854 to capture the title. The Waves' also boasted the individual medalist with Eunseo Choi claiming the honor after closing the tournament with a 3-under 68 (tied with Wang for the lowest of the day) to climb two spots and edge out USF's Yu Shang for the top spot at 5-under 69-71-68--208.
