STANFORD, Calif. - Santa Clara sophomore
J.P. Odland shot his second-consecutive 3-under 67 in the second round of the Goodwin to bring his 36-hole total to 6-under 134. He is tied for the individual lead with just Saturday's final round to go. The Bronco men's golf team shot a collective 1-under 279 to climb up to third place where they sit just two strokes behind co-leaders No. 33 SMU and No. 15 UCLA.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Odland had another excellent day with five birdies, his last of which coming on the final hole to take a share of the individual lead at 6-under. He is tied with UCLA's Omar Morales.
- Matt Robles shot 1-under 69 to climb to a tie for 14th at 1-under 70-69--139. Alvaro Muller is right behind him after his second-consecutive even par round to tie for 21st at even par-140.
- Emil Nielsen is tied for 53rd at 4-over 71-73--144 while Calder Overlelt had a three-stroke improvement from the first round with a 5-over 75.
- The Broncos were 1-under 279 and are 3-under 557 after 36 holes.
- UCLA had the top round of the day with an 8-under 272 to shoot up the board into a tie for first alongside SMU (555).
