Jalen Williams Returning to Santa Clara For NBA Championship Celebration

Registration and Event Details

SANTA CLARA, Calif.
– Santa Clara men's basketball alum Jalen Williams, fresh off of his tremendous performance in the NBA Finals to help the Oklahoma City Thunder win the 2025 NBA Championship, is returning to Santa Clara's campus for a celebration event inside the Leavey Center on Sept. 20th at 2:30 p.m. PT.

The event, officially titled "#BroncoBuilt: Welcome Home J-Dub", will last roughly one hour and will feature photo opportunities with both Jalen and the Larry O'Brien Trophy, a question-and-answer session, highlight videos, a special presentation to Jalen, and other festivities with more details to come.

Santa Clara Athletics is excited to invite Bronco Fans to attend and join in on the celebration. Tickets are available now and can be claimed by visiting this link. The first 1,500 fans in the door will receive a Championship Dub t-shirt, featuring an animated J-Dub in his Santa Clara uniform holding the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Fans will also have the opportunity to grab exclusive stickers and a commemorative poster, and can register today for the chance to have their photo taken with Jalen and the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

A three-year star at Santa Clara from 2019-22, Williams was a two-time All-WCC selection and earned Second Team NABC All-District honors in his final season with the Broncos. He was the WCC's second-leading scorer as a junior in 2021-22 at 18.0 points per game and was a finalist for the Lou Henson Award, given to the nation's top mid-major player.

Williams, of course, would go on to be selected 12th overall by OKC in the 2022 NBA Draft, becoming Santa Clara's highest draft pick of the modern era and first selection overall since Steve Nash in 1996. In just three seasons in the league, Williams has established himself as one of the top players in the world. After back-to-back seasons of being named to the NBA Rising Stars, "J-Dub" put together a sensational 2024-25 season, averaging 21.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in the regular season to earn his first NBA All-Star selection. He was also named to the All-NBA Third Team and NBA All-Defensive Team.

Williams was even better in the postseason, especially in the NBA Finals, where he averaged 23.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists in OKC's seven games. He posted 15 or more points in each game of the Finals, including a dominant 40-point performance in the Thunder's 120-109 game five victory.
