SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Several members of the Santa Clara baseball program put together strong performances across the country this summer, earning all-star nods, postseason honors, and high-level opportunities as they competed in a variety of collegiate leagues.

Right-handed pitcher
Max Bayles had a standout summer that included time with the Bourne Braves in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, where he tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings across three appearances and was ranked the No. 8 pitching prospect for the 2026 MLB Draft by D1Baseball.com. In addition to his time on the Cape, Bayles was one of a select group of players invited to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp held June 29–July 3.

Also representing Santa Clara on the national stage was head coach
Rusty Filter, who served as the pitching coach for the USA Collegiate National Team during the 45th USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Championship Series, held July 8–13 in Japan.

Thomas Ferroggiaro delivered a strong showing with the Corvallis Knights in the West Coast League, earning First Team All-WCL honors after batting .318 over 45 total games including playoffs. He drove in 43 runs and added 15 stolen bases during the summer, helping power the Knights to a playoff run.

Newcomer James Bose, a transfer from LMU, put up impressive numbers with the Menlo Park Legends in the California Collegiate League, hitting .326 with two home runs, 19 RBI, and a .438 on-base percentage en route to being named a CCL All-Star. He was joined in the all-star ranks by fellow newcomer Will Anderson, a transfer from Ohlone College, who also earned CCL All-Star honors. Both were teammates this summer alongside Deuce Filter, who also suited up for the Legends.
