SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference recognized
Juliette Krumholz and
Anna Rahman from the Santa Clara women's tennis team with All-Academic honors on Wednesday. Both garnered All-Academic honorable mention recognitions.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while being a starter or important reserve (participate in at least 50 percent of the institution's completed contests) with legitimate athletic credentials and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution.
Krumholz has a 3.218 cumulative grade point average majoring in communication. The sophomore has a 10-12 overall record in doubles including 8-7 in dual matches and 10-17 overall in singles, 9-9 in dual. She has played at doubles No. 3 and split time between No. 5 and 6 in singles, going 3-3 at five and 6-6 at six.
On Tuesday, the conference office recognized her and
Lizanne Boyer with WCC Doubles Team of the Week honors. The tandem won all four of their matches last week to help the Broncos secure a spot in the upcoming week's WCC Tournament for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
Rahman is majoring in economics (BS) with a 3.879 GPA. She has an 8-16 overall record in doubles including 6-11 in dual matches and 12-17 overall in singles, 10-10 in dual. In doubles, she is 6-8 on court two and 0-3 in court three. In singles, she is 3-5 on court three and 7-5 on court four.
This is the first All-WCC academic honor for Krumholz and Rahman.
Santa Clara next plays at the WCC Tournament starting Thursday against Washington State.
