FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf put a stamp on the 2026 WCC Championship by turning in one of their best rounds at the event in program history. The Broncos shot 6-over 294 in Monday's final round at the par 72, 6,174-yard Green Valley Country Club, tied for the program's third-lowest at the WCC Championship. SCU finished in third place with a final tally of 22-over 886, breaking their previous lowest total team score in the event set last season. Sophomore
Alexa Pineda also made program history after closing out her outstanding individual effort with a 2-under 70 in the final round to finish at even-par 216 and in sole possession of fourth place. It is the lowest total score by a Bronco at the WCC Championship in program history and stands as SCU's best individual finish since 2019.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Santa Clara's final tally of 22-over 886 is two strokes better than last year's performance. The Broncos finished in third for the third-consecutive year and for the fourth time over the last five seasons. In total, this was SCU's 14th time finishing third at the event.
- The Broncos' 6-over 294 final round tied the team's 2024 performance, also in the third round, in Bremerton, Wash., for their third-lowest ever at the event.
- Pineda's score is three strokes better than the program's previous WCC Championship record held by Chloe Lam (2025) and Annie Freman (2016) of 3-over 219. The fourth place finish is tied for the third-best by a Bronco at the WCC Championship (Sarah Busey in 2019).
- Pineda's final round featured three birdies and just one bogey on the par-4 18th. The 2-under 70 tied with teammate Kelsey Kim's opening round total for the second-lowest at the WCC Championship in program history.
- The fourth-place finish is also the best finish of Pineda's young career, and her first inside the top-10.
- Kim also locked up a top-10 finish - her eighth of the season - with a 3-over 219 final total to tie for seventh.
- Kim is now tied with Kristin Le's 2016-17 season for the second-most top-10 finishes in program history. She also has the second-most finishes inside the top-20 with nine.
- Chloe Lam finished just outside the top-10 in a tie for 13th at 7-over 223 after carding 3-over 75 in the final round. It was Lam's sixth top-20 finish of the season.
- Senior Audrey Brust, playing her 126th career round as a Bronco, capped her career by tying for 25th at 12-over 228.
- Proud Sriwongngam replaced Rachael Wang in the lineup for the final round and shot 4-over 76.
- No. 10 Pepperdine captured the team title at 1-over 865 - 14 strokes better than runner-up No. 48 Oregon State (886). The Waves' Eunseo Choi locked down medalist honors at 9-under 71-69-68--207 - eight strokes better than Gonzaga's Grace Lee and Ray Nakao, who tied each other for second at 1-under 215 and just one stroke better than Pineda.
