Kelsey Kim Selected as Individual Qualifier For Stanford Regional

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the regional of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships, and Santa Clara's Kelsey Kim was among the group of individuals selected.

The junior is sticking close to home and will take part in the Stanford Regional held at the Stanford Golf Course, May 11-13. Kim was selected as a 3-seed among the group of six individuals.

Kim is just the third player in program history to qualify for a NCAA Regional, joining Miki Ueoka (2009) and Kristin Le (2017).

Kim has pieced together one of the finest individual seasons in program history. The Fullerton, Calif., product has posted the lowest scoring average in school history at 71.73 strokes per round through 10 events played. She has finished inside the top-10 in eight of those events and nine times inside the top-20. Both marks rank as the second-most in program history. The junior also has the most rounds under par in program history with 15 – six more than the next closest total.

Kim, who also holds the program record for career scoring average at 73.33 strokes, has finished inside the top-five in five events with a pair of runner-up finishes. She shot 4-under 212 in the season-opening Kalispel Invitational to take second, and in February, she shot a career-low 6-under 210 to take runner-up honors at the San Diego State Classic, which is tied for the fourth-lowest score-to-par in school history.

The Stanford Regional is one of six regionals that will be played in a 54-hole format over the course of May 11-13. Each regional will host 12 teams and six individuals not attached to a participating team. The top five teams and top individual not part of an advancing team will qualify for the 2026 National Championship, held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., May 22-27.
