THE BAHAMAS - In the opening round of the White Sands Bahamas Invitational, four members of the Broncos' golf team showcased their skills by finishing with impressive scores, each carding under 70. Leading the charge was Freshman J.P. Odland, who continued to shine with a remarkable 6-under 66. Not far behind, Jeffry Kwak, Muzzy Donohue, and Nolan Forsman all made significant contributions, posting solid scores of 3-under 69. Their collective effort propelled Santa Clara to the top spot in the tournament's rankings for day one with a score of 15-under 273.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:

Odland, proceeds to impress in his collegiate career. In today's opening round, the Tiburon, Calif. native found eight birdies propelling him to the tied first position. He rolled in three-straight to close the back nine.

Forsman found his stride in the back nine, finding his five out of seven total birdies. The last time the graduate student turned in a 69 in the first round, he went on to finish the tournament 2-under 211.

Graduate transfer, Muzzy Donohue came out hot in the first round, finding four of his five birdies in the back nine securing his shared ninth position.

Freshman, Kwak, is also amongst the group turning in a 3-under 69 in the first round. Looking to beat his 4-under 212 at the USF/Howard Invite, Kwak is on the path for more personal bests.

The junior, Kaiser makes his third appearance of the season and carded a 2-over 72 in today's opening round.

Santa Clara's B Team also came out to compete with a round final of 8-over 296.

Jack Morrison came out for the second time this season and shot an even par for the day. He leads the team after the opening round.

Calder Overfelt is right behind Morrison with a 2-over 74.
