Women's Track Announces 2026 Indoor and Outdoor Schedules

The Santa Clara University women's track team will run in five indoor meets before kicking off the outdoor portion of its schedule in March.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Santa Clara University women's track team has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring five indoor meets before transitioning into a deep and competitive outdoor slate beginning in early March.

"We are excited about this schedule we've put together. It's going to provide a lot of opportunities for our team," said Santa Clara head coach Pete Cushman. "With a relatively young squad we need some race repetitions, so it's heavy on opportunity, and also includes a few of the most competitive meets in the country in both indoor and outdoor to give everyone a chance to compete against some of the best athletes in the country."

INDOOR SCHEDULE

Santa Clara's track season opens on Saturday at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener in Boston. There, first team all-WCC and all-region honoree from the cross country season Milaina Almonte will take aim at the Broncos' 5,000-meter indoor record. Once the New Year rolls over, the Broncos travel to Spokane, Wash., for a pair of meets in mid-January — the Spokane Sports Showcase on Jan. 16 and the Spokane Indoor Challenge on Jan. 16-17.

To close the indoor slate, the team shifts to Seattle, for two major meets at the University of Washington: the UW Invitational and "Mile City" on Jan. 30-31, and the Husky Classic on Feb. 13-14.

OUTDOOR SCHEDULE

The outdoor campaign begins on March 6 at the Golden Gate Track Fest in San Francisco. Santa Clara continues with a Northern California-heavy run through the spring, including the West Coast Relays in Fresno, Calif. (March 28), the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif. (April 3-4), and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco (April 3-4).

The Broncos then head to Azusa, Calif., for the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16–18) before returning to Stanford for the Payton Jordan Invitational on May 2. The championship push continues at the Franson Last Chance in Azusa (May 8-9) and the West Coast Last Chance in San Francisco (May 17).

Those Broncos who run qualifying marks will earn the right to race at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships West First Round in Fayetteville, Ark. on May 27-30, and then the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Ore. (June 10-13), should qualifiers advance.
