SACRAMENTO, Calif.- Santa Clara women's beach volleyball dropped two matches on the final day of the Sac Beach Invite in Sacramento on Saturday. The Broncos fell to Saint Mary's 4-1 before dropping a close contest to UC Davis 2-3.

The Broncos had a tough loss in their first matchup of the day against Saint Mary's. After close losses in the first four pairings, Kawena Chillingworth and Callie Loughran came away with the lone victory of the duel with a 19-21, 21-15, and 15-13 thriller over the Gaels.

The Broncos had a much closer match in the second duel of the day against UC Davis falling 2-3. Holland Jackson/Noelle Niederman started things out with a victory in the No. 1 spot, however, the Broncos fell in the next two pairings going down 2-1. Ava Stoddard/Callie Loughran won their match 21-14, 21-19 evening up the duel 2-2. However, the Broncos lost their final match giving UC Davis the victory.

The Broncos will host San Jose State for their only home match of the season on Wednesday at 4pm at the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
