SAN BRUNO, Calif.- Santa Clara junior Middle Blocker
Grace Flanagan was among the 16 players named to the 2025 West Coast Conference Volleyball Preseason Team, as voted on by all of the league's head coaches. The WCC made the announcement on Wednesday.
Flanagan started all 27 matches for the Broncos last season, leading the team with 31 service aces, and tallying a career high five aces on Oct. 10 at Oregon State. She also led the team with 95 blocks, averaging 0.92 blocks per set. She had a career high nine blocks on Nov. 23 vs. Saint Mary's, and a career high 10 kills in the season opener on Aug. 30 against Villanova and on Nov. 2 at Saint Mary's. Flanagan was one of three Broncos last seasons who earned All-WCC Recognition as she received All-WCC Honorable Mention recognition.
The WCC also unveiled the coaches' preseason poll on Wednesday. San Diego was picked to finish first with 120 total points while Santa Clara was tabbed to finish ninth.
Flanagan and the Broncos will begin their 2025 campaign against Notre Dame and Villanova, Aug. 29-30, in South Bend, Ind. before returning to the Leavey Center for the Santa Clara Mission Classic with matches against Cal Baptist, Long Beach State and UNLV on Sept. 4-6. Tickets can be purchased
