KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Santa Clara's
Jake Ensminger and
Brenton Knapper have been named to the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court, representing achievement in the classroom by individual collegiate men's basketball players. The
full list of 2,300 honorees was announced on Wednesday.
To be eligible for the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior or graduate student who finished the 2025-26 year with cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Both players were also previously honored as WCC All-Academic honorees while Ensminger also earned his second-consecutive distinction on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Ensminger, who recently graduated and is entering his final year of eligibility with the Broncos in 2026-27, pieced together a 3.610 cumulative GPA in pursuit of his finance degree. The Ulm, Germany product started 32 of Santa Clara's 35 games last season in which he led the team in assists (2.9) and was second in rebounding (5.5) while averaging 6.5 points per outing. Over three seasons in total with the red and white, he has played in 98 career games in which he's averaged 4.5 points and 5.3 rebounds.
Knapper recently closed out his collegiate career after four seasons with the Broncos where he made 119 appearances and 50 starts. Using his fifth year of eligibility to pursue a Master's in Educational Leadership in 2025-26, Knapper posted a 3.892 cumulative GPA in the classroom while also starting 33 of SCU's 35 games at point guard in which he averaged a career-best 7.5 points en route to helping lead the Broncos the NCAA Tournament.
