SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's soccer is set to kickoff the 2026 season. The Broncos look to get back to the NCAA Tournament and atop the West Coast Conference in heat coach Jerry Smith's 40th season at the helm.

Smith will make some history this season. His second win will give him 571, good for second all-time among Division I women's soccer head coaches.

The roster features 10 newcomers, three transfers and seven freshman, as well as 16 returners. Among the returners, Izzy De Buyl was named to the 2026 United Soccer Coaches MAC Hermann Trophy Defenders To Watch list while Mailin Orozco and Kennedy Schoennauer were named to the forwards list. Orozco was also named Preseason All-WCC.

Orozco led the team with six goals and 14 points while adding two assists a season ago. Schoennauer was second with five goals and 13 points to go along with three assists. Addie Whitehouse and Jalana Kimber both had three assists and a goal with Adee Goulden scoring three times. In all, 10 different Broncos scored and 15 had at least one assist.

In net, Ally Harrison led the team with a 0.80 GAA and a .789 save percentage while making 15 saves in five matches played. Amaris Franco appeared in nine games and made 24 saves with a .706 save percentage and a 1.67 GAA.

Transfers Jordan Geis (UCLA), Aoi Kataoka (George Washington), and Maysen Veronda (Texas A&M) look to make their mark with the Broncos. Geis played in 43 matches with 18 starts while scoring three goals and adding an assist for the Bruins. Kataoka was A-10 All-Rookie at George Washington and had a team best nine assists as a sophomore. Veronda started 10 matches with 33 saves and a .865 save percentage for the Aggies last year.

The season begins tomorrow at San Jose State and is followed by a seven match homestead featuring visits from No. 9 UCLA and No. 1 Stanford. The Stanford match was recently picked up to air nationally on ESPNU.
