SAN BRUNO, Calif. - For the second time this season, Kennedy Schoennauer has been named the WCC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Schoennauer scored a pair of goals in Santa Clara's 3-1 win at San Diego to open conference play on Saturday.
Schoennauer's first goal proved to be the game-winner. With the score tied at 1-1, Schoennauer dribbled around some defenders and from just inside the top of the box, hit a low shot off the far post and in.
Her second tally made it 3-1 and came off a Broncos' free kick. Adee Goulden sent the ball into the six yard box before Litsy Alcocer headed it back. Schoennauer blasted a shot off the ground and over the head of the keeper.
Schoennauer was named the WCC co-Offensive Player of the Week after the first week of the season. She scored a brace in the opener at San Jose State and added another goal against Cal.
Last week, Ally Harrison was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
