Beach Volleyball Splits Pair of Matches on Opening Day

DAVIS, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's beach volleyball team split their opening day matches on Saturday, narrowly falling to UC Davis 3-2, before defeating San Jose State by the same score. Freshman pairing Sadie Snipes and Sammy Wood led the way for the Broncos as the only pairing to win both of their matches.

The Broncos fell in their opening pairing, before narrowly clinching a three set victory in their No. 2 spot with Sadie Snipes and Sammy Wood. A strong performance from Noelle Niderman and Ciara Cantlen forced a third set against Davis, however, they came up just short, and a third set domination by UC Davis in the No. 4 spot sealed the victory for the Aggies.
