Beach Volleyball Falls In Two Ranked Matchups at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's beach volleyball team fell short in two matches against ranked opponents on Saturday, falling to #19 Washington and #9 Cal 5-0 to close out the regular season. The Broncos finished out the tournament 1-3 after defeating UC Davis yesterday 3-2, and falling to #3 Stanford 5-0.

The Broncos fell to the No. 19 ranked Washington Huskies in their first matchup of the day, a rematch from earlier in the season where the Broncos defeated the Huskies 3-2 on March 16 at the Mustang Roundup. However, the Broncos weren't as fortunate this time around as the Huskies got the better of them. This time around Holland Jackson/Noelle Niederman and Alexandra Urbina/Ciara Cantlen took the Huskies to three sets, but were unable to come up with a win for the Broncos.

The Broncos fell to #9 California in the final match of the tournament 5-0. Their lone victory came in the exhibition match for the second straight match. Sveva Munneke and Ellie Skale won their match 21-18, 22-20, while the rest of the Bronco pairings lost in straight sets to the talented Golden Bears team.
