SEATTLE —The Santa Clara University men's track team posted four top-10 all-time marks across multiple events at the UW Invitational and Mile City Friday and Saturday as part of a large Broncos presence at the Dempsey Indoor Facility.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jack Tolbert led a strong Broncos' group in the mile with a time of 4 minutes, 5.62 seconds, to place 22nd overall and second in his section. His time was the third-fastest in program history.
- Tolbert's section also included teammates Oliver Maldonado and Antonio Camacho-Bucks. Maldonado finished fourth in that same section in 4:08.73, posting the No. 8 all-time mark at Santa Clara. while Camacho-Bucks clocked 4:12.22 to place seventh.
- Liam Papavasiliou won his mile section in 4:09.19, the 10th-best mark ever at Santa Clara. Evan Charkut added another section victory with a 4:17.18 performance. Andrew Ho placed fifth in his section (4:16.94), while Connor Rickey (4:17.16) and Jacob McManus (4:16.63) also turned in competitive efforts across the deep field.
- Daniel Trampe cracked the program top-10 in the indoor 5,000 meters with a 13th-place finish in 14:29.83. His performance ranks ninth all-time at Santa Clara.
- Eric Ortega-Gammill paced Santa Clara in the 3,000 meters, finishing 23rd in 8:22.13, followed by Paul Beaven in 26th (8:25.91).
COMING UP
- Santa Clara competes at the Wolfpack Classic hosted by the University of Nevada in Reno, Nev., on Friday and Saturday.
