Men's Track Stacks All-Time Marks at Bryan Clay Invitational

The men's track team posted four all-time top-10 marks over the weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
AZUSA, Calif. — The Santa Clara University men's track team recorded multiple all-time marks, heat wins and front-running performances across distance events at the Bryan Clay Invitational, held Thursday through Saturday at Azusa Pacific's Cougar Athletic Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Daniel Vaca led the Broncos in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 8 minutes, 49.04 seconds, placing 10th overall and winning his heat. The mark ranks third all-time in Santa Clara program history and moved him to 33rd in the West Region.
     
  • Santa Clara added another all-time performance in the 5,000 meters, where Daniel Trampe ran 14:05.82 in the Open A section to place 28th overall and sixth in his heat. His time ranks sixth all-time at Santa Clara, while Paul Beaven and Zafer Courcelle also competed in the section.
     
  • In the 1,500 meters, Liam Papavasiliou paced the Broncos with a 15th-place finish in the Open A race, running 3:46.01 to move into sixth all-time in program history. Antonio Camacho-Bucks followed with a time of 3:48.56, which ranks 10th all-time at Santa Clara. Jack Tolbert competed in the invitational section, and Eric Ortega-Gammill added a performance in the Open B race.
     
  • Across additional sections of the 5,000 meters, McCoy Brooks placed sixth overall in the Open B race in 14:21.13, finishing fifth in his heat, while Jack Tobin followed in 17th and seventh in his section. Jacob McManus placed 28th and Evan Charkut finished 57th in the Open C race.
     
  • Andrew Ho led Santa Clara in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.00, while Eric Ortega-Gammill followed in 1:54.63 and won his heat.
