SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's soccer has added another new player for its 2026 roster. Amma Melton will join the Broncos next academic year. You can read about the other signees here, here, and here.

Melton played five seasons of club soccer for Beach FC ECNL 2008. She served as a captain for two seasons.
In high school, Melton played varsity for three years and earned CIF Prep League Honors all three seasons. She was the varsity team captain as well. Melton helped the team win the Yokohama International School Tournament in Japan and she was selected for the All-Tournament Team.
Away from the pitch, Melton enjoys playing guitar, water sports, babysitting, and creative writing. She did four years of community service helping to improve the social skills of neurodivergent children.
Her mother Glennon Doyle is a award-winning author. Her mother Abby Wambach played for the US Women's National Team and is a published author as well. Her father Craig played soccer at George Mason.
"We're really excited about adding Amma to our roster. She's a target forward. She's a hard-working player who can score goals. She's going to be a great addition on and off the field to our team culture," Santa Clara head coach Jerry Smith said.
