SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Marlee Nicolos has been named the West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a pair of strong games last week for Santa Clara women's soccer.

Nicolos finished the week with eight saves and one goal at No. 15 Pepperdine and at LMU.

After stopping a pair of shots against the Waves, Nicolos picked up six saves at the Lions. Her biggest stop was on a penalty kick late in the match in Los Angeles that preserved the clean sheet.

This is Santa Clara's third weekly honor. Addie Whitehouse was named the Offensive Player of the Week on September 30 and Caroline Gray took home defensive honors on August 19.

The Broncos are back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. against Pacific.
