Silvernail was one of the greatest players in the history of Santa Clara Women's Basketball. A two time All-WCC First Team selection and the league's Player of the Year in 1994, Silvernail led the Broncos to four straight WCC regular season titles, one WCC Tournament championship, a WNIT crown in her freshman season, and two NCAA Tournament appearances. She helped the Broncos to four consecutive winning seasons, three of which had over 20 victories. As a junior, Silvernail teamed with Melissa King to become the No. 2 all-time scoring tandem (985 pts) at Santa Clara. She had 421 of those points. Silvernail had a tremendous senior year for SCU. She led the team in scoring (19.6 ppg), field goal percentage (.488), free throw percentage (.834), rebounding (7.4 rpg) and blocks (15).
