Santa Clara Athletics Hall of Fame
Dorinda (Lindstrom) Shaffer was one of the best scorers in Santa Clara basketball history. She led the team in scoring her junior and senior seasons. She earned 2 All-WCC First Team selections. Her senior season she was selected as the WCC Player of the Year after leading the Broncos in scoring (19.9 ppg), field goal percentage (53.1%), free throw percentage (72.2%), and blocked shots (14). Shaffer ranks second in Bronco history in career points total (1,549), top-10 in 10 other statistical categories, and even holds the NCAA record for consecutive made field goals (17). After her collegiate career she earned an invitation to try-out for the national team and then played professionally in Norway. She was inducted into the Santa Clara Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.
