Santa Clara Athletics Hall of Fame
John Boccabella helped lead one of the best baseball teams in Santa Clara history.The 1962 team made it all the way to the NCAA championship game before losing in extra innings to the University of Michigan. Boccabella led the team in batting average (.357) and was named All-League that season. He currently ranks 10th in Santa Clara’s history with 25 career home runs. After graduation, Boccabella was drafted into the MLB and played for the Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos, and San Francisco Giants during his twelve year career.
