Jenkins was a member of the Santa Clara football program from 1973-77. He was a two-year starter at defensive back and made a name for himself as a senior by tallying five interceptions. Jenkins' great senior campaign caught the eye of the Seattle Seahawks, who signed him as undrafted free agent in 1977. After appearing in two preseason games, Jenkins was waived, thus putting an end to his athletic career.Â
Jenkins, who also played tennis for the Broncos, graduated from Santa Clara in 1977. Following his professional football stint, he turned his focus towards a career in law and earned his J.D. degree for the University of San Francisco in 1980. After serving as the U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of California, the San Francisco native was appointed California Supreme Court Justice in 2021.Â
