Gary Podesta did not attend Santa Clara, but his impact on the Bronco’s Lacrosse program is undeniably the most important in the sports 40 year history at Santa Clara. Coaching from 1983 to 2012, his 25+ years as the head lacrosse coach are easily the most successful years that Santa Clara Lacrosse has seen. Following his time as head coach, Podesta continued to give back to the lacrosse community by holding different positions for the MCLA and the WCLL.
