Mandy Cavan was a two-time First-Team All-American while at Santa Clara. Cavan played in 95 games and scored 67 goals with 67 assists. Both her goals and assists totaled the most in Santa Clara’s history. In her senior season of 1999 she was awarded the Hermann Trophy and was named NSCAA Division I Player of the Year and the Missouri Athletic Club Player of the Year. That year she set Santa Clara records for most assists in a season (23) and points (71) while finishing second in goals with 24. Cavan won three straight WCC player of the year awards and was named First Team All-WCC each of those seasons, while making Second-Team in her first year. She was also named a First Team All-American in the both of her final two seasons at Santa Clara. Her No. 5 jersey was retired in 2013, making it the fifth honored jersey in Buck Shaw Stadium.
