Frank Lico led the Santa Clara Broncos to a three-year winning record of 47-12-0. Lico was selected by the players and coaches of the California Intercollegiate Baseball Association as a First-Team All-League. He led the CIBA in total bases and extra base hits. He was also named to the 1952 All-American Second-team. Lico was described by longtime San Jose Mercury News columnist Tom Rowan as “one of the greatest players ever to wear the Bronco uniform”.
