Santa Clara Athletics Hall of Fame
Roderick “Big Rod” Chisholm played four years of Santa Clara Football (1924-28). He would tenaciously break through the line to block the opposing teams’ punts and amassed a number of tackles during his career. Chisholm helped Santa Clara into the national spotlight as a Catholic college football powerhouse. After graduation, Chisholm and three fellow Broncos, accompanied Father Bernard Hubbard S.J. on nautical expeditions that would make history. Chisholm was inducted into Santa Clara’s Hall of Fame in 1970 for his contributions to the Bronco Football program and Jesuit education.
